Founder Jim Caruk- Master Builder
On top of running a highly-successful construction business, Jim has worked with some of Canada’s most successful architects, tradesmen and designers, accumulating the practical skills and knowledge of how to complete home improvement tasks effectively.
That’s given Jim invaluable insight into how to save time, money and headaches. Now Jim wants to pass those trade secrets on to you. He’s combed his network of accredited master builders, teachers, industry sponsors and sub-trades to assemble an interactive, practical learning forum that delivers the essential skills homeowners need to complete projects on their own.
Of course, it’s all served up with a bit of fun. Because whether he’s driving in his half-ton, his sports car, or his Harley, Jim’s quirky sense of humour helps him to see the lighter side of travelling along life’s highways and byways. The professionals Jim has chosen to teach the hands-on workshops also understand the value of a chuckle or two — and are committed to creating enjoyable learning environments.
Behind the scenes, Jim’s a down-to-earth guy with two teenage daughters, who loves his family and friends. A connoisseur of great architectural design, he combines great taste with a commanding presence.
When not renovating or riding his hog, Jim is criss-crossing the country to meet with fans at the many home shows he attends. You can also watch Jim team up with Mike Holmes to judge HGTV’s Handyman Superstar Challenge, which puts potential handymen through their paces in a quest to find and crown Canada’s next home renovation superstar.
